Tunnel under Baldoyle Estuary
Some members may be interested to know that the Greater Dublin Drainage Project includes a proposal to build a tunnel under Baldoyle Estuary, Portmarnock Dunnes and the Velvet (Portmarnock) Strand to carry treated sewerage out to sea beyond Ireland’s Eye (see www.greaterdublindrainage.ie). The deadline for the making of submissions has been extended to 2nd December next. There has been fierce opposition to similar proposals in Balbriggan but very little from Howth, Sutton or Baldoyle.
Local Heroes
RTÉ is coordinating a Local Heroes campaign in an effort to get consumers and businesses spending locally and creating jobs. It has been the subject of radio TV broadcasts. More details can be found here: www.rte.ie/localheroes

National Women’s Enterprise Day
Finally, today is National Women’s Enterprise Day (visit www.nwed.ie). A high proportion of those involved in our Chamber are women and that is something that we should celebrate and be proud of.
Our mission is to initiate debate, represent views and lobby when necessary on behalf of our members. We want to enhance members' ability to successfully conduct their business and to promote the best interests of the area so that we may help create an ideal place to work, live and visit.
